Certificate for Bankruptcy Credit Counseling

If you plan to file for bankruptcy, you’ll need to take a pre-bankruptcy certificate course to  receive a bankruptcy pre-filing credit counseling certificate. This required pre-filing bankruptcy certification course is mandated by the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005 (BAPCPA).

You will be required to provide this pre-filing certificate of completion to your attorney (or to the Bankruptcy Court) showing you have completed the bankruptcy credit counseling course prior to filing for bankruptcy.

Filing for bankruptcy is a difficult decision that you should discuss with an attorney or other legal professional. Once you decide to file for bankruptcy, take your certificate class at National Financial Literacy Foundation (NFLF), a non-profit budget and credit counseling agency, where we make it convenient and comfortable to take the certification course online or by phone.
